The following is the first collection of bowls I completed using a wood lathe. They are all shaped from white oak blanks. The largest of the four bowls measures 10 inches in diameter.
Pictured above is the shaping process going from a square blank mounted on a face plate, to the finished, sanded form. A mortice on the bottom of the bowl was used to secure it to the chuck.
