The Warp Chair is a side chair that draws inspiration from danish cord woven furniture. The name references the warp and weft of a loom.
The frame of the chair is constructed of hard maple. Its strength lends itself well to the tension applied by the cord. Half-lap joins are used throughout to ensure rigidity.
Pictured to the right is the weaving process. The entire seat and back was woven with a continuous length of cord. Figure-eight knots were used to connect one length of cord to another. This detail acts a reminder of the weaving process.
